The Lion's Gate, also known as St. Stephen's Gate

Although some tradition place the Lion's Gate as the site of the martyrdom of St. Stephen, there are earlier that state Stephen was stoned at the north of the city, rather than the east where this gate is located.

"And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. 59And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Acts 7:58-59
