Lets Get Christianity Back To Being Christianity

May I first draw attention to three verses from the scriptures, both Old and New Testament?

“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” Malachi 3:6

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17

These state in no uncertain terms, and regardless of which context we take them that God does not change, yet how many today that claim they abide in the Word of God refuse to accept this simple message.

About two thousand years ago God the Son became incarnate in the Flesh, died on the cross for our sins, resurrected and ascended to heaven, although summarized, these facts are well known and accepted by Christianity.

During His time on earth in the flesh, Christ appointed twelve apostles to continue His ministry being guided and inspired by the Holy Spirit, this too is commonly accepted.

These apostles founded the Church, sending letters of edification for support and correction when in error to those Churches when they could not visit them in person. Again, this is accepted as Truth.

By this God structured His Church, He set it in the order in which He wanted it, He directed her to remain that way until His return, He warns us concerning any that teach anything different and these facts are commonly accepted as biblical truths.

Jesus promised if we do these things He would ask the Father in heaven to send a helper being the Holy Spirit to comfort and nurture us and guide us into all Truth and this, all Christianity state is truth.

Therefore, my question is where do Christians think God got it wrong.

I ask this because modern Christianity rarely follows the faith and practices originally put in order by God through His apostles as is evidenced by the numerous variations between the denominations today and also the differences between the modern Church and the original Church.

Do modern “pastors”, “ministers”, “priests” or whatever title they chose to call themselves really believe they know more of what God wants, than God Himself?

By what authority do these self-proclaimed agents of God suggest they have the authority to change what God ordained through His true agents being the apostles?

In addition, Christ promised He would ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit if we love Him enough to keep His commandments as it says in the following scriptures,

“If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” John 14:15

If then someone was to willfully or knowingly teach different doctrines or practices to those that God put in place in the original Church through His apostles, can it be truly said they love Christ and have kept His commandments. If no, then can they truly say they have, or are inspired by, the Holy Spirit?

Furthermore, by doing this do they not create a new faith and by this, a new Church. Then by gathering to this new version of Christianity and this new Church are they not alluring people away from the faith as God Himself ordained?

“He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.” Matthew 12:30

Lastly, I would expect many to challenge what I have written here, but before you do this, may I ask you to consider these points.

What spirit would want you or anyone else to hold firm to any believe that conflicts with what the Holy Spirit ordained?

What spirit has already kept you from knowing or believing what the Holy Spirit ordained?

What spirit would create disunity amongst believers fragmenting the Body of Christ into the multitude of doctrinal variations we witness today?

What spirit has deceived so many into continuing to propagate these false teachings that have kept so many from the original faith?

“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” 1 John 2:18-19

What spirit would want to see the Kingdom of heaven divided against itself?

“And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:” Matthew 12:25

I know what I have written here may cause offense to many and for that I apologize but as the littlest leaven is still leaven, the littlest corruption is still corruption and both has no place in the faith of Jesus Christ.

Let us all then not bicker or argue about who is right or wrong, rather let us all work together in the one unity of Spirit to return the faith to its original purity as it was first given us.
