The Hidden Fruit Of Nestorianism in Today's Christianity

To begin, let us consider the following verse,

“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” 1 John 2:18-19

One major example of this occurred in the 5th century, which almost split Christianity in two. A man named Nestorius (c. 386-c. 451 AD), Bishop of Constantinople began teaching the heresy that Jesus existed as two separate persons, one being the flesh and blood mortal human, the other being Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God and God Himself, in effect saying that only the flesh man died on the cross and only the God performed any miracles.

As the popularity of this false teaching began to spread, Nestorius began to develop a following that become known as “Nestorians” until in 431 AD, the Council of Ephesus was held to determine the issue. Ultimately, the “Nestorians” broke from the Body of Christ to form what has now become known as the “Assyrian Church of the East”.

Now to get this in context, the Word of God also states many times there is only “One Body” of Christ, the following are a few examples,

“For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.” 1 Corinthians 10:17

“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:12

“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6

Clearly Nestorius was deceived and the fruit of this was that a new Body was formed, separate from the original Body of Christ, thus a bad tree which grew from the seed of the corruption and deception of this man’s teachings, which resulted in division and the misleading of those whom he influenced.

Christ Himself said,

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.” Matthew 7:15-18

Since that time, this “corrupt tree” has been growing and still exists. Although they may no longer teach the original heresy as this would easily identify them and the spirit behind this knows it, they still hold doctrines and practices that do not conform to the faith as we are instructed by the Word of God to maintain, being the faith as it was originally preached,

“Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 25And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.” 1 John 2:24

“And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.” 2 John 6

“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” 2 John 10-11

“Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” 1 Timothy 4:16

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8

Those who have either been raised in this second “body”, often believe they speak truth, blind to the fact they are still accursed as Paul had said, because they are part of that second “body” being a separate Body to that of Jesus Christ. They fail to see they are inspired by a deceiving spirit, that although they believe it to be the Holy Spirit it is not, because this is its deception, this is the illusion it gives them as it feeds their flesh desires and turns them into the ministers of Satan, gathering to this second “body” and this counterfeit faith.

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:13

The spirit behind this “corrupt tree”, this counterfeit branch of Christianity, is still alive and well trying to graft into itself as many as it can deceive. It looks real and it sounds real, as this spirit has had many years refining it’s lies until now it looks almost totally believable. Even its own victims are often fully convinced and in their favor is the fact they may have an innocent intent. However, the truth of Christ’s Words still remain,

“A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.” Matthew 7:18

Today we must be wary of those deceived into this trap of Satan that even claims to hold direct authority through an unbroken line of succession from the apostles, passed down the generations through an ordained ministry through the laying on of hands to justify calling itself an apostolic authority in Jesus Christ. Yet the spirit in its prideful and mocking character, has flaunted in its victims faces the very evidence that uncovers the lies, being the names of Nestorians in that line of succession.

I will use an example of a gathering of whom it is my belief none here are affiliated with, that being those who call themselves “The Spiritis Church”.

Their website being,

On this site, you will find comments such as,

“The true original Church”

“From the Original Ministry of Jesus & His Apostles”

“SINCE the time of the Apostles, the Church catholic (universal) has existed. During the course of history, many branches of the One, Catholic, and Apostolic Church have evolved. One thing remains constant with all the branches, however, that each has maintained an unbroken line of succession from Christ and the Apostles to the present.”

Let us consider these comments, firstly they are according to their own testimony descended from the Nestorians, as any can see if they check the Spiritis Church site where they name those from whom they claim to have received their anointing.

Secondly, as the Nestorians were never part of the “original ministry of Jesus…” these are blatant lies when said in regards to themselves.

Thirdly, the unbroken line of succession they speak of can hardly be accepted when it includes those who were not part of the Body of Christ, thus no authority to anoint, according to their own declarations of faith.

Elsewhere on this site you will also find numerous other mistakes and deceptions, one example is the following error in regards to the Coptic Orthodox Church (originally called the "Church of Alexandria”), I call this an error just to illustrate their failure to fully investigate the subjects of which they speak. They say,

“The Gospel spread rapidly throughout Egypt of which Alexandria became the Primatial See, being subsequently raised to the dignity of a Patriarchate, ranking third in order next after Rome and Constantinople.”

In actual fact, history and even Church teachings confirm that the Church of Alexandria pre-dated the Church of Rome by a couple of years and Constantinople by many years. In addition, it was the Church of Alexandria that anointed the first Patriarch of Constantinople, which would have been a very difficult thing to do if they hadn’t existed or held that authority already.

I want bore you with the many names of all those for two thousand years they claim their authority was passed through, if you want to read them then simply go to their site. However, they also claim to have received an anointing from the Coptic Church, which is another complete lie. As well, they falsely claim to have received anointings from a number of other original apostolic Churches, one of note being the Church of Antioch, today known as the Syrian Orthodox Church.

I have mentioned this because if any wish to confirm whether the claims of this gathering are true or false, don’t take my word for it, ask the Coptic Orthodox or Syrian Orthodox Church if they consider the “Spiritis Church” and their Nestorian line of authority to be a legitimate claim of apostolic authority, remembering that the "Spiritis Church" has acknowledged them as genuine holders of this title.

My purpose in posting all of this is not to point fingers at the “Spiritis Church” or any other gathering that fell in this delusion with the “Assyrian Church of the East” as these are merely victims of a deception. No doubt the vast majority of their members truly believe they are being taught truth and are most likely decent people trying to generally do the right thing.

Obviously, the goal is simply to see no more fall to this deception, and if any here already have, through any cult that descends from the Nestorians then this is said to reveal it to them. If they are genuine, and only they and God knows, they will be thankful and glorify Christ for allowing them to see the Truth and renounce their part in this lie, and truly be free.

The key to proving all of this is of cause in the history of the Nestorians, known as the “Assyrian Church of the East”, “Nestorian Church”, “Persian Church”, “East Syrian Church”, “Chaldean Syrian Church” (in India only) and the “Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East”.

It is this Church that initially became a second “Body of Christ” in Satan’s attempt to replace the original Church of Antioch (Syrian Orthodox Church) of St. Peter and the Malankara Orthodox Church, founded by St. Thomas.

If any are interested or have become involved with one of these cults claiming to have authority through a line of ascension from the apostles, in particular St. Thomas, then simply compare their lists of anointed Bishops, if it aligns with any of the Nestorians after the Council of Ephesus 431 AD, you’ll know they are frauds.

If you want even further proof, then compare their teachings of how they interpret the Word of God and what the original apostolic Church held as their doctrines of faith, if both are inspired by the same Holy Spirit, they will speak as one, the greater the differences, the greater they have been deceived.

As a final point, I would just like to highlight how far the “Spiritis Church” have become distant from the original doctrines of Jesus Christ as we have recorded for us in the Holy Scriptures and in all the evidence of the true apostolic Churches as the Holy Spirit inspired them. To illustrate this, if you go to their website and look under the title “Key officials” you’ll read they even have a woman who they claim is an anointed Bishop.

Another similar example is a counterfeit gathering calling itself “Fellowship of Christ International”, this cult makes similar claims, and also has listed as one of their supposed Bishops a woman by the name of Dr. Trudy Veerman. If any would like to see evidence of their false claims then all that is necessary is to examine their website.

What I will mention here is that Dr Veerman is a regular poster on an Internet discussion forum called “” which supports these deceptions to the point of banning a member, specifically being myself, for posting the evidence, both publicly and through private message to the administrators.

If any would like to see the evidence of their false line of apostolic succession or a list of their counterfeit bishops, this is available for public viewing on their website;

The final example of the fruits of the spirit behind “Nestorianism” is the false ministry of Dr. Jimmy Davidson. or as he calls himself on his website, “International Apostle and Bishop to Churches around the World”

Like the previous examples of the “Spiritis Church" and “Fellowship of Christ International”, Dr. Davidson uses the same heretical Nestorian line of succession of authority to justify his deceitful claims.

On his website you can also read the following on the page entitled, “Bishop Confirmation”,

“FROM THE METROPOLITAN PRAYERS AND BLESSINGS ARE BESTOWED Our Beloved Children in Christ, let it be known to your Christian Love that H.G. Jimmy Lee Davidson D.T.H. has been chosen in accordance with the Apostolic Canons, tried and examined, and found qualified in sound learning and in his virtuous manners of life, and has accordingly been consecrated, ordained, ranked and confirmed a Bishop in accordance with the ordination rite of the Holy Apostolic and Catholic Church of the East, for the parish of and Arch Diocese of Texas and therefore, henceforth he is officially authorized to practice his rank in All Nations in accordance with the rules and regulations, namely to perform liturgy of the propitiating sacraments of the Holy Qurbana (Eucharist) and to perform the ceremonies of marriage and burial and all the duties of a Bishop as well as there is heavenly power to tie and untie in heaven and earth by the power from above to ordain Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers (Ephesians 4:11) and to bless the appointment of Piryadhotha (Cor Episcopa) and to say prayers over one when he has raised to the rank of Archdeacon. "This is a true saying, if a man desires the office of a bishop, he aspires to good work." (1 Timothy 3:1) The Grace of our Lord be with him, Amen. And in confirmation thereof, we hereby fix our Seal and Signatures.”

In this statement, take notice it admits he received his ordination through the “…Church of the East” being the descendent gathering from the original Nestorian breakaways from the Body of Christ.

Take note also that this gathering claims to have the authority to anoint apostles, in total disregard of the scriptures that to be an apostle you have to be a first hand witness to the ministry of Christ, or sent out by Christ Himself and under the apostolic authority of the twelve, preaching the same Word of faith as them.

As scriptural evidence, consider the following,

“Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.” Acts 1:21

Here we read clearly of the account of the replacement of Judas, of how to be raised to the position of apostle in the same category as the twelve the candidate had to be present when Christ walked the earth in the flesh, thus for this to happen today, a person would have to be about 2000 years old.

The other way a person could potentially be anointed as an apostle today is based on scriptures such as the following, concerning the apostles Paul and Barnabus,

“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. 3And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. 4So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.” Acts 13:2

However, in this case, we read how the Holy Spirit called these men to their position through those we know to be true apostles, not simply the claims of the individual themselves. In this way, the Lord Jesus Christ appointed the twelve, then under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the twelve sent out others in the same manner, after they personally laid hands upon them, anointing them to their ministry.

Thus, to potentially be an apostle in accordance with the Word of God, a candidate would have to have to have been present with the Lord or have an anointing passed down from another verifiable apostle with a verifiable unbroken line of anointing, back dating to the twelve, which would not include those such as the ”Nestorians” that separated from the Body of Christ to form an independent group or gathering inspred by whatever spirit to preach a differing doctrine of faith to that which was first heard.

”But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;” Romans 10:8

If any would like to confirm for themselves these false claims, his website is,

In conclusion, the “Nestorians” and many other similar groups cannot be considered part of the Body of Christ, in fact the Word of God clearly defines the spirit behind those that broke from the true apostolic Church.

“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” 1 John 2:18
